I made this school bus cake for my sister in law who was a bus driver for many many years. I started making cakes and decorating them just for fun and came up with this for her birthday.
I made two pound cakes in loaf pans. I trimmed them to the shape of a bus. Colored buttercream icing, the bumper is black licorice, stop sign is a vanilla wafer covered with red melted candy, children are mini vanilla wafers, the lights on top are orange M&M’s, and the wheels are chocolate donuts. Can’t forget the headlights are Chiclets gum.
Gave the cake to her at school, she wouldn’t cut it until she got home.
I am having a “Back to School” party for the kids in my daughter’s class. I am going to attempt to make this cake!! It is sooooo cute!!

I’d love to make a similar cake for my son’s second birthday next weekend, but. I cannot figure out the shape of the cake. Did you use two regular sized loaf pans and stack themone on the next? But what about the front hood of the school bus?.
