Coolest Shark Cake

My 6yr old son loves sharks. He has a favorite picture and I worked off that as much as I could.

The Homemade Shark Cake is 2 10″ buttercakes stacked on top of each other with jam in between then it is carved to shape. I butter creamed the cakes first then covered with the fondant.

While the fondant was still very soft I pushed up the shape of the eye socket and did the same with the nostril and gills. The water is 3 different coloured buttercreams mixed to look like moving water. With the gums and teeth I wanted it to look as real as I could so there are 2 rows of teeth and they are not all in uniform because a real shark does not have perfect teeth.

The last thing was I had a pearl like dusting powder I just used in places on the water to give it a glimmer. I have a photo of my son trying to bite it instead of the shark trying to bite him!
