I used all Betty Crocker products for this Spiderman Birthday Cake Idea: Made 31 cupcakes using 2 boxes of double fudge cake mix and arranged them on large tray. I mixed 4 containers of whipped fluffy white icing with blue food coloring (classic gel food coloring) and spread it over the arranged cupcakes. I found a Spiderman illustration I liked and etched the outline (all details plus the web) into the blue icing with a coffee stirrer (thin red straw kind). I used black decorating cake icing (6.4 oz bottle with 4 tip styles) using the drawing tip to fill in the etched outline and to draw the black spider freehand.
I filled in the black outline using red decorating cake icing with the star tip. I filled in the white eyes using white decorating cake icing with the star tip. I decorated around the outline of the cake using the white and red decorating cake icing with the star tip. I wrote the message with a small black gel decorating tube (.67oz size).
