This Spongebob cake was made for my friend’s son’s birthday. This is quite an easy cake, I got the idea from my son’s key chain.
Baked two rectangular sponge cakes and sandwiched them with butter icing filling. I marked the outline of the Sponge Bob design on the cake with the toothpick. Used white roll out icing with food colour added to it, cut into sections for his body, shorts, shades.
To give the 3D effect used cup cakes for his arms and thighs, later covered it with the roll out icing. My husband and son helped me through the icing. Molded the sandals and the arms and fingers, it was like playing with the play dough. It took six hours for the icing.
It was a Super Hit and everybody at the party loved it, most importantly my son loved it.It was great fun doing this Sponge Bob cake.
This cake looks great, must have taken a long time to complete it.
