I made this homemade Spongebob cake for my daughter’s 5th birthday. I used the frozen buttercream transfer method. I made my own frosting, colored it as needed using gel food coloring, and piped the frosting onto a coloring book picture that was covered in wax paper.

First I traced the face and then covered it all with yellow frosting. I then put it in the freezer for at least 45 minutes. I took it out, and placed it upside down on a basic 9×13 cake. Then I peeled back the wax paper very slowly and carefully. I filled in any spot around the sides of the cake with the left over yellow frosting.
