Coolest Tiger Birthday Cake

This Tiger Birthday Cake was made by me for my son’s birthday September 2008. My son Alex wanted a Tiger, soccer ball, and Lizards theme. I thought how was I going to do that, so I came up with a Tiger cartoon type 3d teddy cake using a Teddy bear cake tin, soccer ball candles and toy lizard decorations.

The cake is mud cake and was cooked in a 3D teddy bear cake tin. I used butter cream coloured with food dye and piped the fur on using a grass tip and piping bag. The Tiger’s stripes were done using cut up licorice. The cake board was green butter cream. I placed fake leaves on the board with toy lizards as decorations and I used soccer ball candles to finish the theme.

He was very happy with his cake.

  1. Thanks for the idea! I had fun making the cake for my daughter’s 10th b-day. She loves animals and wanted the baby tiger. I couldn’t find a cake pan to borrow so I used my pampered chef round glass bowl for the head. I carved out a face. Freezing the cake helped with the carving. I used a square dish for the body and 2 cupcakes cut in half for the paws and ears. I used a chopstick to attach the head and plastic toothpicks to attach the ears. I used the pampered chef icing decorator. Turned out cute!
