Coolest Tinkerbell and Friends Cake

After spending weeks making this Tinkerbell and Friends cake for my five year old granddaughter, I couldn’t bear to say the final goodbye to it.

The base and trunk etc. were made from polystyrene and covered with sugar paste, but beforehand I put lights around the trunk and the waterfall. By the way the waterfall is colored piping gel plus lots of glitter.

The house was made from Madeira cake in a giant cupcake mold, which incidentally I won’t use again as the length of time it took to bake made the cake dry, so should I ever do another one I’ll use stacked individual cakes and carve the shape.

The bluebells, primroses and Lily of the Valley I made life size and hid some of the fairies behind them so the children were delighted when they spotted them peeping through the leaves. Needless to say, Amelia refused to have the cake cut and ended up taking it back home, and to be honest I was a little relieved no-one would be eating the cake. It would be lovely if you get some idea’s for your special little girls cake from this one.
