Coolest Tinkerbell Cake

I made this Tinkerbbell cake for my niece’s 3rd birthday. I used her party invitations to get the idea of Tinkerbell’s pose and using her wand to dot the “i”. I used the Wilton recipe for buttercream icing, and the Wilton colors to tint the icing.

When filling in Tinkerbell, I first thinned out the frosting using Wilton’s piping gel. This made it much easier to achieve a smoother look, and it even made the icing a little bit shiny.

For the flower border, I used Wilton’s royal icing recipe and made the flowers on waxed paper before decorating the cake. When I was ready for them I just used a dot of the buttercream icing to place them on the cake. Everyone loved the cake, especially the birthday girl!
