Cool Homemade Toy Story 3 Cake

This Toy Story 3 Cake is the first birthday cake I ever made. The bottom layer is fondant cut with a pizza cutter to look like wood. On the middle layer, I cut clouds out of white fondant with a knife. The top layer has the name and number cut out of fondant. All layers are iced with buttercream. The globe on top was made by rolling rice krispie treats into a ball and covering with fondant.

The little toys were added for color and accent. The rope border around the bottom of the cake can be made by slicing two long strips of fondant and twisting them.

Enjoy!

Yes, this is my first Birthday cake. I had made one other cake for a prom before this one. I have since made many. It took me a few days to make and a lot of work to get it right.

  2. This is amazing. I’ve been looking for the Toy Story cake I want to make for my 3 year olds birthday next weekend, and I just found it! Amazing job. Can you please let me know how you made the letters at the bottom? Is the happy birthday buttercream or shaped fondant?? Also, do you have any advice to get the icing on the top of the rounds crisp and clean like yours? Mine always look so wishy washy. That crisp edge really gives it a professional look. Amazing!
