Coolest Toy Story Birthday Cake Design

My son turned 4 in June and wanted a Buzz and Woody cake. I found an idea on this website to make a Toy Story Birthday Cake Design out of frosting.

I found the blank coloring pages off the internet. I placed each page (one for buzz and one for woody) side by side on a metal cookie sheet and then covered the whole thing with saran wrap (make sure the wrap is pulled tight and I also tapped it to the underside of the cookie sheet). I outlined and colored each picture with frosting, it took me 2 days to complete. I did the outline one day and the coloring the next). Once complete place in the freezer.

After baking my cake and icing it, I took out the “picture” and applied a thin layer of the frosting (I used the same as the icing on the cake and the skin areas had a green tint to them, next time I think I will just use white). After applying the layer of icing, place the picture back in the freezer. After about 10 minutes, take it out and flip it over onto the cake. Rub the picture with either your fingers or a spatula to remove from the saran wrap. Please note, the frosting will warm up causing the colors to rub together as you rub the picture! You will need to place the cake and all in either the fridge or freezer to get the icing cool. It took me 3 different rotations before the picture was finally on.

I was afraid of the outline and the colors running, so I piped a black outline around both figures.

My son was definitely excited, but I think the thing he liked best was the fact I wrote his name on the boot of Woody.
