This Toy Story Themed Birthday Cake was only my second attempt at making a birthday cake and working with marshmallow fondant. I viewed numerous you tube tapes in order to figure out how to (1) make the marshmallow fondant and store it, and (2) and then how to cover a cake with the marshmallow fondant. Once I felt comfortable with the process, I sketched out a design of the cake based on the various pictures I saw on the web, and I put it all together the day before my son’s birthday celebration. He helped create the shape cutouts using cookie cutters and helped place the figurines on the cake (from the Disney store).
All in all, I was quite happy with the finished product. I’m looking forward to the next decorating feat.
