Cool Homemade Twins Birthday Cake

I made this Twins birthday cake for my dad’s birthday today. I just used a 12 inch circle cake pan. Baked a chocolate cake with chocolate chips, let cool and flipped to have a flat surface to work on.

I printed out a Twins logo I found online and cut around the edges. Next I laid my paper on my cake, took a toothpick to trace my cut out and went on to frosting. I used bought precolored frosting for the red and blue and made the white myself.

Thinking about making a Cardinals cake next weekend for my brother-in-law’s birthday. I will use the same technique. It was a hit and very tasty!

I have also used the same cake pan and used cut out flowers from my Cricut machine to make a flower cake for my sister. My Cricut works great for this kind of project, it is fast, accurate and I can make my designs the size I want. I am a beginner to all this cake making stuff but have been really enjoying this venture.

  1. I love how clean your design is. I always appreciate a cleanly designed buttercream cake. People often think my cakes are difficult, but as I’m sure you now see, they’re not difficult. They’re quite easy, if you take your time. Awesome job! I may borrow this :)
