Coolest Homemade Winnie The Pooh Cookie Cake

My daughter loves Pooh Bear, and I wanted to do a Pooh cake for her 2nd birthday. However, I didn’t want to spend $40 for a store decorated one. I had read of several people who printed out a Pooh picture and either free-handed the drawing on a cake or cut Pooh out and outlined the entire picture with frosting.

I found a clip-art picture of Pooh Bear, resized it, and printed it out. I decided a cookie cake would be best, because I could just scrape off the frosting if I messed up. I cut out the individual pieces of the picture (i.e., arms, head, shirt, tummy, legs) and secured each piece to the cake with a toothpick. I then used a writing tip to outline each piece with black frosting.

To frost the inside, I tinted frosting light orange and red and spread it on with one of my daughter’s baby butter knives. The small size of the knife made it perfect for the tiny little spaces. It took a bit of time, but it was well worth it!
