Homemdae Wedding Dress Cake

I was feeling bored yesterday, so I thought I would amused myself by trying to make a wedding dress cake, would be ideal for a bridal shower.
Started by using my freestanding bell tin for the skirt. I then used my bottom cake tin for for the Bust and shoulders. I did this by cutting it in half and shaping the shoulders from the rounded part. I then baked a 14″ x 10″ slap cake for the train. Once baked I iced the bell shape and sat in on the slab-cake to lift the skirt and leave a good size for the train behind. I then covered the shaped bust with Paprika icing and popped this on top of the bell shape I then put a large dowel through the whole shape. I covered the bust in white fondant to make a dress top and I iced the train. then piped small sugar rose shapes around the bust. I did some lacey effect Cornelli style icing over the whole dress. I piped the skirt with extra roses and edged the skirt and train with a royal icing frill. I then attached lots of small calla lilies with small diamante stones around the dress.

I popped it onto Facebook and got quite a good response. I then cut the whole thing up and popped it in into cake tins for my husband to eat….
