Statue of David Birthday Cake

I was asked  if I can do a statue of David Cake for a school music teacher who plays guitar and got  his long wanted Statue of David for his 60th birthday. He also has an abstract sense of humor. Well I am not a Sculptor of any sort so, for the cake topper I tried to make this statue, but let’s face it, if I could sculpt like Michael Angelo, I would be a sculptor. So that was a fail. Next I went to Target and purchased a male plastic doll, cut his legs off where needed to position them. Using plaster I covered the re-positioned legs. Then I got a phone call, Hi, just wondering if you could have David playing a guitar like this pic followed. Do you think we could have David wearing board shorts and sand shoes?

All briefed up on what was needed, simply this is what I came up with. The Statue of David playing a guitar wearing shorts and sand shoes, wearing sunnies as he will be in the garden. The bottom tier represents this as his little patch in the garden.  Surrounded by Treble Clefs on each corner for his music. The people were extremely happy with it as it covered everything they wanted. Once again I am not Michael Angelo!
