Transformer Bumblebee Cake

My son really wanted a bumblebee cake for his 4th birthday and I couldn’t find one that I really liked. My husband and I decided we would make our won cake. I found an easy fondant recipe online called rolled buttercream fondant. I bought two boxes of regular cake mix and frosting not whipped. I baked both the cakes then let them cool. Then I made the fondant, I colored the majority of it yellow then some black, yellow, red, and blue. We put wax on the table and rolled out the yellow fondant. After the cake cooled we cut out the general shape and used the the other cake to raise the chest and feet. I frosted the whole cake and then carefully we flipped the fondant on top of the cake and molded it to the features. My husband made the head out of pure fondant as well as the hands and wheels. All the little details were made out of fondant as well. This cake was time consuming but the outcome was pretty good for the first time. Tips for you: The fondant works better when it is cold so put in the fridge when ever it gets to warm. Have powder sugar on hand for the table and rolling pin. Wax paper is a must.
