I used a square bottom followed by 2 round cakes to make a total of 3 tiers.  I used a 1/4″ pegs to support the cake and instead of draping the fondant in 1 piece I cut the square and round pieces to cover the top and then lengths of fondant for the sides.  The ribbons were simple, just strips and as I draped them around the top I inserted tissue paper so they could keep their shape.

Very simple cake but it made a nice statement- it was my 1st wedding cake.
