This cake was easy to do. I got the idea from a Picture on a Wilton cake pan while in wal-mart. Instead of white cake ,I made the white Layer Icecream. This was also the first time i made homemade buttercream frosting FYI* Make sure you have a strong Mixer, it burnt my hand mixer up the frosting is so thick before you add the milk*.To Make the Icecream layer match the size of the cake i used the pan i baked the cake in as a mole** cover it in plastic wrap for easy removel of the icecream**.

I seen on the wilton cake site you can order the the Flag pan that looks like its waving , i didnt have the time to buy it so i made an extra red layer cake and craved my own waves, crumb coated and froze the cake...Decorating it was a whole different story.....Buttercream does not stick well to the icecream on the side of the cake.....

Make sure its very cool if you make an icecream layer mine was melting very fast trying too keep it cold....As you can see the top & side where it was melting . Love The Site I have found such great Idea's ,Happy Baking!

Homemade Breaking Dawn Birthday Cake

by Candice Brookman
(Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada)

I made this cake for my best friends daughters 12th Birthday, I started with a marble boxed cake mix(I work 50 hrs a week so I have to cheat on that part lol)I made a double layer filled with whipped chocolate frosting, then I crumb coated the whole thing. After about an hour in the fridge I covered the whole thing in white fondant which I do make myself :)I then cut out a WHOLE BUNCH of black fondant squares and made the checkerboard pattern on top. Earlier I had taken 2 twilight images to my local grocery store and they copied the images on to edible paper (cost $7) I stuck the images on the sides with a little water (just the edges, too much can ruin the image)then I trimmed out the whole thing with blood red icing and used the same to pipe some scroll work on the blank edges. Her and all her friends were abouslutely thrilled with the cake! I was happy with the results myself as this was only the 4th faondant cake I've ever done :)

Guns N Roses Cake

by Brianna
(Kelowna, BC, Canada)

I made this cake for a co-workers birthday. She's a HUGE Guns N Roses fan, so this was the perfect choice!

The guns were bought from a local dollar store.

I just used buttercream icing to do all of it! If you've never made a rose of icing before, but have always wanted to learn, I recommend going on YouTube! That's how I learned! It was quick, easy and fool proof! It was a lot of fun to make and my co-worker flipped out at the thought that went into her birthday cake!

My daughter, like most little girls wants to be a princess .So for her 4th bday , we had a princess theme and decided to make a castle cake. Got lots of ideas from this site. Baked two square pans, a small round tin and five cylinders ( corn-beef tins ). Decorated the cake after stacking and placing with marshmallow icing and added icecream cones on the top. Also place stone chocolates around the cake. My daughter loved it !
