Girls birthday cake
This cake was actually made for three occasions in one big party. The main event was my niece's 1st birthday, but it was celebrated on the 4th of July...in their brand new home. So, the top tier was for my niece's birthday, the second tier represents the housewarming party and the bottom tier is to celebrate Independence day. The cake was mostly done in pink, white and blue to also represent this. We took the top tier off and let that be the birthday girl's "smash" cake.
It was made with French Vanilla cake and Strawberry cake layers with a whipped Strawberry icing/filling. There was also a homemade pink buttercream icing underneath the fondant. Everything is edible on the cake except the crown and stars on top and the pink drop earrings around the garland on the top.
I have made lots of cakes in the past but this was my first cake made with so much detail. Also only my third tiered cake. It was fun but did take a lot of time to finish. Hope you like =)
