I made this Horror Movie birthday cake for my oldest son's birthday. He loves scary movies so I decided to make him a horror movie cake.
I used 2 chocolate cakes and put them side by side. I cut a 1 inch strip down along one side of each cake so that I could put the flat sides together to make one big cake. I used the cut off pieces for the 3 elevated parts on top of the cake. I frosted the entire cake with whipped butter cream icing mixed with food coloring. Green for the grass and blue for the water.
I smashed graham crackers for the dirt, used pretzel sticks for the fence. For the 2 little trees, I dipped grape stems into melted chocolate and then dipped the tips into green rice krispies and hung them upside down to dry for a few hours before putting them on the cake. The rest of the pieces (skeletons, and Acton figures) are plastic that I just put on the cake. Everything but the plastic pieces and the trees are edible.

My husband is a huge Lovecraft fan and loves Cthulhu, so I decided to try and make him a Cthulhu from Lovecraft Cake for his 30th birthday. I made a classic, sour cream based, marble cake (which is like making 2 cakes, 1 chocolate and 1 yellow). I poured some of the yellow in one half of an eight inch round cake pan and some chocolate in the other half and swirled them around then I did this in a second eight inch round to make a layer cake body.
Then I used the rest of the batter to make 16 yellow and chocolate cupcakes for the tentacles. Cthluhu is supposed to be very squid-like, so four and four works very well. I made some cream cheese frosting since it's white and easy to dye with food coloring and make mostly dark green frosting, setting a small bit aside to make the light green frosting. The eyes are red M&Ms and I used a cake decorating icing bag to shape out the brow.
I made this Horror Movie Birthday Cake for my grandson who loves horror movies. It is an oblong vanilla sponge filled with butter cream and jam. The model of the claw, chainsaw, small boy, clown and drain are all gumpaste.
The picture is on edible sugar paper. And film strip border I designed myself and printed on edible sugar paper. The messy over piping is meant to be sqirly blood and the lower edge has blood icing seeping from the cake.
I made a small hat from gumpaste for the candle. All very gruesome but he designed it himself and was delighted with it.
I make a Birthday cake for my nephews every year. This Friday the 13th Birthday Cake is the Jason Voorhees cake. He wanted a scary hockey mask Jason from Friday the 13th.
I made 2 round 9" chocolate fudge cakes filled with Chocolate Buttercream. I then covered it in fondant and used buttercream frosting to draw out the shirt, straps and the border. I shaped a hockey mask out of fondant and used a large piping tip to cut the holes out to match the movie character. I then used straight red coloring for the marking on the mask.
I'm 17 and I made this Scream cake for the mother of my best friend. She loves to watch horror films but she is very afraid of Scream. On her 50th birthday I wanted to make a little joke and made a black-cherry pie with the face of Scream. I'm sorry for my English but I don't know some special words but I will give my best to describe it.
When you have baked the cake cut it in 2 or 3 pieces lengthwise. Fill it with cream and cherries and decorate it.
