Coolest Thomas the Train Cake

I started watching a cake decorating show on T.V. and fell in love with it, so when it came time for my grand-son Tyson’s fourth birthday, I wanted to try to do his cake. I had never made any homemade cakes, icings or anything. I went on-line and found this site. Without it, I would have never tried to make the cake.

I actually used cake mix from the box and cream cheese icing from the can. It took 4 cake mixes and 7 cans of icing. I baked 3 sheet cakes, stacked them, and carved out Thomas.

It was very time consuming but when I saw the look on my grandsons face, it was worth every minute. He almost cried when we cut the cake. This was done in Jan. 2007. I now know how to make the buttercream icing. And the cake decorating is getting a lot easier thanks to this great helpful site. I have eleven grand-children, so it really does come in handy.
