Coolest Littlest Pet Shop Cake

This Little Pet Shop cake was made for my daughter’s 9th birthday. She had The Littlest Pet Shop theme. It was my daughter’s idea to have a cake that would look like a park since she likes animals.

I used the Betty Crocker yellow white cake mix with vanilla filling. I used Pastry Pride brand of cool whip to ice the cake. Put Pastry Pride cool whip in the mixer and whip for 9-12 minutes increasing gradually. I separate the cool whip in small containers so I can add some food coloring as needed. With the financial crisis going on, we used her toys/ (Littlest Pet Shop) figurines as the cake topper. I don’t have to buy any figurines or cake topper.

I used buttercream icing to make the walkway in the park, grass and bushes. I made ahead of time the little flowers made of royal icing using star tip. The park bench, girl and cat are made up of fondant. I used food color to add color to the white fondant to make the girl’s face brown, orange cat, pink dress and brown bench.

After making the cake I placed all the toys and the fondant characters on top of the cake.
