Coolest Hello Kitty Birthday Cake

This Hello Kitty birthday cake was a chocolate cake made for my daughter’s 6th birthday. I baked one cake in a rectangular pan, and made a cardboard template of Hello Kitty’s head cut out of a cereal box. I then, once the cake was turned out and cooled, sat the template onto the cake and cut the shape out using a knife.

Then I split it, filled it with chocolate frosting, then crumb coated the outside and put it in the fridge. Then I covered it with white fondant, and cut out eyes and nose using coloured fondant, and using black fondant, rolled it into a long sausage shape which was used as the outline of the face, eyes, nose and whiskers.

This cake was really easy but looks effective I think.
