Cool Mardi Gras Birthday Cake

I made this Mardi Gras Birthday Cake for my daughter’s 15th birthday. She is crazy about Zebra Print and wanted a Mardi Gras theme for her party.

I used two Duncan Hines cake mixes for this cake and a 8 in round pan. I made the cake the day before and stored them in the fridge overnight. I iced the whole cake purple and then added the details. The zebra print is Wilton sugar sheets cut in strips.

The letter K in the center is made with a chocolate disk I sculpted and piped with the letter K for my daughters first name. Then I went back and piped the green on for the colors from Mardi Gras. I found some cheap beads and the mask and added them on top, also found the zebra print candles.

My daughter went crazy over this cake and everyone loved it. I got lots of complements for the cake and it was so easy to do.
