This was for my son’s 6th birthday. He was really into dragons and I wanted to make a dragon in the moat but I know the cake would not fit in the frig for the jello to stay hard so there was no way I could do that. Thats way I went with the castle idea. The castle is make of rice crispy treats with black food coloring and chocolate store bought icing and chocolate kisses. The moat was lined with green fruit roll-up and then filled with blue jello. (I made the jello in a bowl and let it completely set up in the frig, then just before the party I stirred it up with a fork and dumped it into the moat. That way it looked like a nasty coppy moat not a nice blue pool). The trees were made with sugar cones covered with green icing. My son loved it and he got to keep the dragon to play with when the party was over.
