Coolest Doll Cupcakes 231

Homemade Doll Cupcakes
I used these doll cupcakes as an activity for my daughter's seventh birthday. Each girl got one, and we decorated them together at the party. They took them home later as a party favor. (I made sure to send the doll's original clothes and shoes home with each child.)
The picture you see is what I did before the party. I then provided powdered sugar butter icing (all different colors) and small candies for them to decorate with.
The cupcakes themselves are yellow cake, and the frosting is a fluffy, egg-white based frosting. I let them dry overnight before having the girls attempt to decorate them. The only thing that is a little tricky is getting the dolls in without their feet going through the bottom, or splitting the cupcake. Make a few extra cupcakes just in case!
What I found the easiest was using a table knife and poking a hole in the top of the cupcake before trying to stick the doll in. Then, I frosted the dolls' dresses with the doll's hands UP, and then when I was finished lowered the hands. Oh, and make sure you get dolls with their hair up, or put it up yourself before frosting!
I used Kelly dolls (or at least the generic kind of Kelly dolls). They are just the right size for the cupcakes!
