I made this Icarly Birthday Cake for my cousin Sarah for her birthday. The bottom tier was a 10 in round 2 layer chocolate cake with homemade blue gray butter cream frosting (I used 1 cup Crisco to 4 cups domino power sugar, 2tbs clear vanilla and 1/4 cup water to make a batch of frosting). I used royal blue gel color with a little black to get the color I wanted for the locker. Then piped the locker doors in 1in sections around the cake then added the air vents and handles also with black frosting.
The top tier was a butter cake with a pink butter cream made the same way as the bottom tier. I piped purple star tip around the top and bottom of the cake and wrote Happy Birthday on the side.
The computer mouse on top of the cake, the microphone and Sam's remote on the side of the cake were all made with Wilton fondant. The stars were cut out from pre made Wilton yellow fondant and stuck together with a stick in between. And the Carly and Sam Photo was a left over invite from the party..
I had a lot of fun doing this cake and have had a friend ask me to do it again for her girls in the next few weeks. Thanks for looking.
This is the iCarly Birthday Cake I made for our neighbor's daughter who is turning 6. She just loves iCarly. I thought the perfect way to do it would be like a computer. This base is a 1/4 marble cake. I iced it with whipped icing and covered in fondant. I then used Wilton Pink Spray Mist to give it a pink color.
I next made the keys out of fondant and glued them on top with cookie icing. The screen is not edible. This is made up of thick card board, but I suggest in you can use a something lighter such as packing foam. I found the cardboard was heavy and needed to be placed into the cake and supported by cooking skewers. Lesson learned for next time. The screen is a frosting sheet personalized with Jordan in it. I then finished it off with a two-toned icing. Since Jordan's favorite colors pink/purple I used that color combo. You can do this yourself in the icing bag, but they also make tubes by Wilton that will do the same effect.
The very last touch was the iCarly rings around the cake.
I had a hard time finding ideas for an iCarly Web Cake. I hope this helps anyone looking for ideas! I chose to do a two tier. I used buttercream for the tiers. I used fondant for the details. We made tons of stars and circles in different sizes using a Wilton cake star cutter. My daughter loved helping mix stars and circles of different colors to place all around.
I printed a logo for iCarly and used wax paper to trace and copy the letters. I carefully cut the letters using a small knife. The twirls are made into long thin stripes and twisted. These are super easy and made a huge difference. For the topper I did not have time to make a computer, however, we had an American girl doll computer that I let my daughter design a screen page for and we placed it on the top layer that was an upside down cupcake iced. This cupcake helped emphasize the computer.
