Blue Power Ranger Cake

My son wanted a power ranger cake that stood up. So, I had to think. I took one 12 inch round cake pan and baked the cake in that then I cut in half to lay the the flat sides down. This made the shoulders. I put them side by side to have the desired thickness to look like the shoulders of a person. I then formed the head out of rice crispy treats. Then I placed a dowel rod through the head and attached it to the shoulders. The head was heavy so I had to add an extra dowel rod to support it. I colored the icing blue using the gel colors because they seem to make bright bold colors. I just smoothed on the blue icing then I piped on the black which I colored with gel coloring as well. I used a picture that my son had of a power ranger to make it look like the blue one. The kids got a kick out of how big he was. It was gobbled up and they liked the rice crispy treat as well.
