Coolest Marilyn Monroe Cake
I made this for a young lady who’s a big Marilyn fan. The cake is lemon supreme, two 9x13s sandwiched with cream cheese frosting and lemon curd. I used the same frosting for a crumb coat, then covered the cake with fondant icing (homemade–Wilton’s Marshmallow recipe with a little lemon flavoring–messy to make, but much better than the store-bought fondant!) I put a fondant ruffle round the bottom, and a black and white dotted ribbon round the edge.
Downloaded a silhouette from the internet then used an x-acto knife to cut it out from a black Wilton’s Sugar Sheet (first time I’ve used this, and it worked well). I hand painted the mouth with some Christmas Red food coloring paste.
