Cool Homemade Pool Party Birthday Cake

I made this Pool Party Birthday Cake for my daughter’s 3rd birthday in August. I got the idea from this sight. It was very easy to make.

I made a half sheet cake using 3 boxes of cake mix. I also made 4 boxes of blue jello in a bowl and refrigerated it. After my cake was cool I used a spoon to scoop out an indention into the center of the cake. When the blue jello had set up I stirred it up and spooned it into the scooped out center of the cake.

I then iced the cake and decorated it using graham crackers for the fence, teddy grahams for my swimmers, sticks of gum for my lounge chairs and gummy life savers for floats. It was really awesome but not good for outdoors because the jello melts FAST!

After making this cake, I would recommend that you use a small pan to put into the center of the cake so that when it’s time to serve, it can be removed and served separately. It was adorable though!
