Cool Homemade Red Hat Birthday Cake

This red hat birthday cake was made for a very good friend’s 50th birthday surprise party. This cake was made with a 6 inch pan on top of a 10 inch pan and strawberry cake inside covered with red fondant.

I was covered with a red hand when I got done mixing the red in the fondant( NO GLOVE, will remember next time). The gloves were also made of purple fondant. I traced my hand and cut it out with a small fondant wheel to get the stitching effect. The white pearls were also made of fondant.

I put the cake in a hat box. My friend was so surprised when she opened the box.
