My husband and I decided to attempt our first ever cake for my son’s 1st birthday. We baked for 2 days and assembled and iced over 2 days. We found it easier working with very cold cakes and coated the entire cake in a very runny icing before applying the butter icing so the cake did not crumble. I think we did a pretty good job.
