This Elmo Birthday Cake was a first birthday cake for a little boy named Evan. His mom said he is Elmo crazy. So I know I had to make it a great and fun cake for him! I used chocolate fudge cake batter for the sheet cake. And the same for the small round. I pre-made the Elmo out of gumpaste and red fondant so it would have time to dry. I did the same for the name and the ribbon twist. All that was made out of gumpaste and fondant.
I used butter cream icing on the cake and trimmed it in blue using tip #21. The samll round cake I used red no-taste coloring gel and vanilla icing. I made elmo’s eye’s and nose out of fondant and gumpaste.
This was a fun cake to make and the customer was very happy with the cakes!
