Cool Homemade Football Cake for an AFL Referee

An adult 50th Birthday cake for an ex-Carlton AFL Referee. This Football cake is a three tier chocolate mud cake with chocolate icing. The top tier is covered with green-tinted coconut representing ‘grass’ and decorated with a set of AFL goal posts, football boots and ball, the Carlton logo and the birthday greeting banner.

An Action-Man® figure dressed in hand-made Carlton AFL referee club colours sits calmly on the edge of the field. Metallic blue candles (not the correct number!) complete the decoration.

The PC generated banner has the birthday greeting written in the ‘Bookman Old Style.ttf’ font. The Carlton AFL Logo was regenerated and cleaned up from a very small graphic.

The cake served 60 adults and was greeted with heartwarming admiration. After making so many cakes for young children it was very nice to have someone else whip out a camera to start taking photos of my handiwork.
