I made this cake for my husband’ birthday last year. He is Italian and loves spaghetti so I thought it would be a perfect fit.
The cake is a 3 layer 6″ cake covered in white fondant and then spray painted with Wilton silver color mist. The spaghetti is fonadant that I put through my kitchen aid spaghetti extruder.
The meatballs are chocolate cake crumbs, mixed with a bit of buttercream so they would hold their shape. The “spaghetti sauce” is buttercream mixed with strawberry jam and red food coloring.
The Parmesan cheese sprinkles are grated white chocolate. All the decorations on the board are handmade out of fondant.
For the gravity defying fork I used a real metal fork (a cheap one from the dollar store so it was lightweight). I attached it to a thick smoothie straw by bending the two middle prongs into the straw and adding a bit of hot glue down the center of the straw.
