I decided to make this Christmas Tree Cake when I found the cake tin in my local kitchen supplies store. I made the cake from sponge the used green buttercream for the base. Then I covered it in smarties and edible silver balls, added some red icing for the garland using a ribbon tip. For the candy canes I used fondant icing, red and white. To create the stripes I cut strips of the red icing, layed it on top of the white and rolled it together. I then cut out the candy canes using a cutter.
I made presents from fondant too, just small blocks and used brown icing and a cutter to make the gingerbread man!
I had lots of fun making it and the kids at the party I made it for loved it!
