Coolest Dean’s St. Louis Cardinals Birthday Cake

I used the retired Wilton baseball glove cake pan. I also used a small oven proof glass bowl.

I used 1 cake mix. I made 2 small cakes in the glass bowl 1st, then used the rest of the mix in the glove pan.

After cooked, let cool completely. I had to trim the cakes from the small glass bowl so they would fit together and look like a ball. I iced the glove in buttercream in brown, blue and copper. After that was finished, I had 1/2 of the ‘ball’ upside down and iced in white buttercream. I let it dry a bit and went over it with a Viva paper towel. Then I placed it in the center of the glove. I iced the top and added the 2nd ball 1/2.

I iced it in white and let dry again then went over with the Viva towel again.

I also did the word CARDINALS with white candy melts. I did the stitches with red pull apart Twizzlers and I added 2 skewers through the ball into the cake board. Then I added the Cardinal on the ball with a toothpick. I made it out of fondant.
