This High School Musical cake and the cupcakes were filled with custard flavored with chocolate, the icing was done with Wilton’s Butter cream recipe and I added meringue powder to stiffen it up. It was so humid and poured buckets of raining that day – the icing just would not hold it’s shape!
We did High School Musical 9 because my friend’s daughter, the birthday girl, Cassidy was turning 9!
The background on the cake is supposed to be the burgundy curtains opening! I used a cookie cutter to get the perfect star outline for the cake but it wouldn’t fit on the most gigantic of cupcakes so I hand piped with gel the black outline and used the star tip.
For the finishing touch, and it looked better in person, we added Wilton’s purple coloured sprinkles.
