Coolest Nascar Cake

I made this Nascar cake for my nephew Ryan’s 8th birthday. I used the Nascar cake pan, and purchased the Nascar food color kit (red, blue, yellow and black). My brother-in-law, Ryan’s dad, provided a Nascar catalog/program that I used to copy the car design. I even cut out an ad to a Dale Jr. t-shirt and covered the “Dale” with “Kush” (Ryan’s last name).

The car number being 8 worked great, since it was Ryan’s 8th birthday. I cut out his face and taped it onto the t-shirt, so it looks like he is actually driving the car!

I covered a box lid with black/white checked wrapping paper and cut out flags and slogans and glued them around the outside of the box. I made flags out of the wrapping paper and affixed them to the corners of the box with straws. I purchased the Nascar birthday candle, it is shaped like a trophy.

I had fun making and decorating this cake, and my nephew loved the fact that he was the driver.

  1. Your cake looks wonderful, and I love the personal touch with adding the birthday boy’s face to the figure of the driver. You presentation (with the checkered-flag box) is also very nice. No wonder they were so thrilled with it!
