I did this soccer ball cake for a friend’s daughter’s birthday party. It was perfect for her since she loves soccer and she loved it! I used the Wilton soccer ball pan for the cake and decorated cupcakes as soccer balls. She loves purple so I did purple and black.
I made my favorite butter cream icing and tinted some purple and tinted some black. For the cupcakes, I outlined with a toothpick the design of a soccer ball and then drew in the lines with black icing then added black to the appropriate areas and used a star tip with purple icing in the remaining areas.
I then tinted some remaining icing green and used my grass tip and piped green icing around the bottom of the soccer ball for a grass effect. Lastly, I surrounded the soccer ball with the cupcakes and wrote the birthday message on the cake board. Enjoy!
