Coolest Tigger Cake

I sell cakes from my home, and I recently had a request for a Tigger cake. I was nervous about doing it, but I think it came out very nice.

I used the rim of a small bowl to make a perfect circle in the center of the cake. Then I filled it in with white icing and let that dry. From there I created a buttercream Tigger profile. I started by using orange and making the outline, then I filled in the sections of Tigger with the appropriate color. I piped the chocolate boarder and then used a small tip (tip 4 or 5) to make yellow and orange confetti around the top.

I use the Wilton buttercream recipe:

1 cup vegetable shortening

1 cup butter or margarine

2 tsp vanilla

2 lbs powdered sugar

1+ tbs milk to thin

add 1 and 1/2 cups cocoa for chocolate

I hate writing on cakes. I ALWAYS make a mistake. Just remember to let your cake dry completely before writing with icing. That way if you make a mistake, all you have to do is use a toothpick to lift the letter or word up off the cake and redo it. However, this won’t work if your writing icing is too thin. Icing consistency is key, and toothpicks are my #1 tool!
