Coolest Very Hungry Caterpillar Birthday

I just made this Very Hungry Caterpillar Birthday for my son’s first birthday. I used 1.5 bundt cakes and a 20cm round cake (although should have trimmed the head a little more).

I used packet vanilla cake mix for all the cakes, but made my own icing using icing mixture and butter to create the ‘fluffy’ look.

I used 2 shades of green and a blue/yellow combo to make the 3 greens of the body. I used marzipan for all the decorations on the face and the feet, and coloured them with the same brand of food dye.

I dyed toothpicks with liquid food colouring to make the spikes.
