I made this for my nephew’s 9th birthday, he’s totally obsessed with pool, I’d only made a simple caterpillar cake before but thought I’d give making this cake a bash anyway! I was surprised with the final result yet very pleased with myself.
I made 2 packet sponge mixes& put a layer of cream & jam between them. I then covered the whole thing with ready to roll icing and painted it with green food colouring. I painted around the outer edges with orange food colouring along with a chocolate icing border. I then made the pool balls out of tiny pieces of icing and painted them with red & yellow food colouring. I also made the cue’s from icing & painted them with orange & red food colouring. I used the chocolate icing to outline the pool table pockets. Hey presto I’d made 1 pretty impressive (well i think so) pool table birthday cake.
My nephew was totally over the moon with his cake which made it TOTALLY worth IT.
