Why should you buy a used cake pan on eBay?

- On eBay you'll find almost every cake pan that has ever existed
- You know exactly what you're getting (and you know it'll work... ;-)
- You'll probably use it only once, so why even think about buying a new one?!

Wishing Well Cake

This cake is made for a bridal shower. It is made with three 10-inch rounds stacked. The steps are made out of fondant as well as the wishing well. The trees are from chocolate mold, the pine trees are ice-cream cones....

Wishing Well Cake

I made this cake for my cousin on her last day of chemotherapy. She wanted a cake to take to the hospital for all of her nurses and doctors, to show her appreciation and to wish them well (and thus, the idea for the "wishing well"). I found the idea in the Wilton Celebrate! With Fondant book, and followed their ideas for amazing cakes.

The base is an 8x2 in. round, crumb coated, then covered in white fondant. The stones were made of fondant, mixing brown and white slightly to create the marbleized-look. The basket, bird, and roof shingles are also made of fondant. I had trouble finding plastic dowel rods to hold on the roof, so I replaced with wooden dowels.

There is a lot of planning ahead in order for all the fondant pieces to be dry. All in all the result was great! The nurses apparently wouldn't cut into this cake, and only ate the sheet cake that I also sent along.
