This horse cake was inspired by other horse cakes on your site. I used the 9×13 rectangle and cut out for neck and ear suggested by Family Fun’s website. The frostings are a cocoa based one for the base from Hershey’s, and a chocolate glaze with coconut for texture in the mane.
My daughter wanted a wild look without a bridle, but I found a bridle was necessary to make it look like a horse (and not a dog!) The bridle is made from the candies off a candy necklace. The eye and mouth are from colored candy canes. Thanks for sharing your ideas.
