Teacher Appreciation Cake

I wanted to do something for the teachers that was different. I looked at many on line photos to get this idea. I used a 9x13 pan for the bottom book and cut another cake the right size to "look" right for the top book. It needed a little something more so I made a rice krispy treat apple and covered it in MM fondant. The stem is real.

Cakes are covered in buttercream icing and are separated by a cake board and dowels. One dowel goes through both cakes and sticks up a bit on the top to secure the apple.
