Homemade Wonder Woman Birthday Cake
I made this Wonder Woman Birthday Cake for my sister's 39th birthday. When we were kids, we used to run around the house in our "Underoos" and play super hero's, she was always Wonder Woman! I was brainstorming at Party City and found some awesome throw back Wonder Woman plates & napkins.... that is where I got the idea!!
I used a 10X12 pan for the torso and these small 4" ball shaped pans to fill out her top. I made a chocolate fudge butter cake and made homemade peanut butter buttercream frosting. I cut the cake to make her curvy silhouette, added a little frosting to add her top, covered the entire cake with the peanut butter buttercream, then used Satin Ice fondant to create the costume.
I used paper to make the templates for the "WW" for her chest and her belt. I used small star shaped cookie cutters for the stars on her bottoms.
I always make the cake the night before to let it rest overnight and I also mix the colors of fondant I need. It only took me about 2 hours to carve and decorate the next morning.
She loved it, I had fun making it... win-win!!
