I made this Football Stadium Birthday Cake for my grandson's 8th birthday. He is a huge New England Patriots fan so I thought he would love this stadium cake. I made the white almond sour cream cake because it has a very moist, dense texture which is great for carving and decorating and taste delicious!
I made 3 11 x 15 cakes. One was for the field and the other 2 I stacked on top of each other and then cut into 3 long pieces. I then put those pieces around the base and carved out the stadium. For the stands and fans, I cut fondant into squares, brushed melted white chocolate and sprinkled with round colored sprinkles. The football players were teddy grahams that I piped on frosting uniforms.
The field was made by using a grass tip and all the of writing was with melted white chocolate. It took me 12 hours to put this all together but boy it was a very fun 12 hours and the look on his face was priceless.

This football player cake was made for the boyfriend of a neighbor's daughter, a Liverpool Football Club fan. Not a difficult cake. Just an 8inch cake split in two and filled (in this instance) with chocolate butter cream.
The outside of the cake was also covered in buttercream in order that the sugarpaste would stick. The whole cake was covered in sugarpaste which I had coloured green. I made it big enough to cover the edge of the board. The figure was again made out of sugarpaste.
I then stuck the wrapped chocolate footballs around the edge (this was the hardest part of this cake as it took ages for me to find a shop that sold them!) and covered half of the cake with a net from a bag of satumas.
I had lots of practice trying to make cakes just so I could make my 3 year old little boy a great cake. It took lots of practice and lots of disasters but in the end this is how my Football Pitch Birthday Cake turned out. I was very happy with the end result as I had no idea how do bake a cake a few months ago and now I'm making lots of cakes for family and friends special occasions. Just takes practice.
This cake meant a lot to me as I set myself a task and that was to make my little boy's birthday cake myself and here it is and I hope everyone likes it. Practice makes perfect and hopefully I will be even better on his next birthday.

My sister is a crazy Colts fan, so for her birthday I did a Colts Birthday Cake Design. The cake is simply a boxed French Vanilla cake but instead of the oil, water, or eggs I substituted a can of Coke Zero. It made it SUPER moist.
I baked 1 in an 8X8 in. square pan and the other was a 9 in circle pan. I cut out a horse shoe shape out of the circle cake and place it onto the white frosted square cake. I outlined the white square with blue frosting and then frosted the horse show with blue with white outlined. I also added white dots.
The top of the white was sprinkled with blue sprinkles. She took this cake to work and it was a touchdown!
I made a 10 inch square cake and covered it with buttercream then I covered it with green fondant icing. I rolled a long piece of white fondant and placed it over the middle of the cake to make the scarf and added black strips to make the stripes and added the fringing as well.
Then I started to make the footballer which was just pieces of coloured fondant mostly rolled into balls and shaped and lines pressed on with a knife to make the hair and roly socks. Finally I coloured coconut with green colouring make the grass and sprinkled it on the cake and board.
I was very pleased with the results of this Footballer Cake.
