Beach Party Sandcastle Birthday Cake

I made this sandcastle birthday cake for my sweet little girl, Hannah, who was turning 4 at the end of July and wanted to have a beach party for her birthday.

The dollar tree in our area had a lot of summer decorations. I used some new sand buckets to serve chips and gold fish crackers complete with sand shovels to scoop them out. I also mounted a beach umbrella in the middle of two tables and we had sandwiches, and skinny dip and chips. I made cake pops and called them beach balls.

Sandcastle Birthday Cake Directions

  • For the cake, I made a double layer square cake with white buttercream icing and piped the words on the cake with my Wilton tips and piping bag.
  • Then to make it look like a sand castle, I used sand castle molds to form the Rice Krispie treats and I used brown sugar for the sand.
  • I bought some starfish cookies and made flip flops out of nutter butters.

Everything turned out well and my girl loved her cake and the party!
