Coolest Father’s Day Cake

This Father’s Day cake was one of my first experiences with fondant. I made a 9 by 11 cake, iced it with butter cream. I rolled out white fondant and covered the entire cake. I cut out the pocket and placed it on one side. The collar took a little work to make it seem seamless with the cake and to get it to stand up but it worked out.

For the tie, I rolled out some blue fondant and cut out strips of red and placed it onto of the blue. I used a rolling pin to roll the red into the blue and then cut it out into a shape of a tie. I placed the tie with little supports under the rolls until the fondant would stay by itself. The funny part is that my husband doesn’t like cake, but the kids were thrilled to dig into this one!
